The Ashley Touring Cycling Club has been offering a mixture of relaxed Sunday rides and (relatively) informal racing since 1992. At heart we are a touring club, so our focus is on offering Sunday rides that cater for the ability and mood of whoever has turned up. Sometimes we embark on centuries, and sometimes (more than we’d like to think) just amble to Knutsford and have a coffee.
We have a small member base, which produces an extremely friendly and sociable atmosphere, and allows us to meet the needs of all members. No one is ever left behind, and anyone is welcome. Currently we have a strong active junior section, and are always looking for new members.
The main areas of the club are touring, hill climbs and time trials (the latter in an informal way). Rides are organised throughout the year, even through the depths of the British winter (including the yearly New Year’s Day ride, often in ‘collaboration’ with Buxton CC).Although as a club we don’t do any mountain biking, many members do, so rides can be arranged between members.
